A Tribute to Brian Bocklund
It is with a heavy heart that we remember Brian Bocklund, a beloved father, son, and friend, who left us too soon at the age of 52. Brian's life was marked by his warmth, his dedication, and his unshakeable love for his family. He was a devoted father to his twin children, a handsome and strong man with a heart as deep as the waters he cherished so much.
Brian spent his life working hard-first in the pharmaceutical industry and later in the world of yachts-always striving to provide for his loved ones and touch the lives of others. His professionalism, charm, and kindness made him a trusted colleague and friend, and there wasn't a soul who met him that didn't love him in return.
Though Brian faced many struggles, including a recent divorce, his love for his ex-wife remained unwavering. His strength, resilience, and compassion were evident in the way he navigated life, always putting his family first, and finding solace by the water, which brought him peace.
Even in his darkest moments, Brian's selflessness shone brightly. In his final act of generosity, he arranged for his organs to be donated, a reminder of his care for others, even when he was in pain himself. This decision is a testament to the depth of his character, and it will live on through the lives he has saved.
Brian's passing serves as a stark reminder of the importance of mental health-especially the often-invisible burden of depression. His story, and the love his family carries forward, encourages others to seek help without shame. Depression is real, and no one should feel alone in their struggle. If you are hurting, please speak up. There is strength in asking for help, and there is hope in healing. You are worthy of care, of love, and of support.
As we remember Brian, let us honor his memory by committing to take care of ourselves and each other. Brian's legacy is not just in the love he gave or the lives he touched, but also in the message he leaves behind: don't wait until it's too late to ask for help. The world is a better place with you in it.
Sharing the precious memories of Brian's life are his loving mother, Christine Schneider, and her husband, Jack Schneider; his former wife and lifelong friend, MaryBeth Bocklund; his cherished children, Anna and Danny, whom he adored beyond measure; his close and protective sister, Stephanie Leveille-three years his elder-and her caring husband, Vince Leveille; and his father, Dean Bocklund, along with his father's wife, Sharon Bocklund.
Brian, you will be deeply missed, but your spirit, your generosity, and your love for your family will live on forever.
A Mass will be held at St. Peter's Cathedral in Marquette, Michigan on July 5th at 11 am. A Celebration of Brian's Life will be held at the American Legion in Marquette, MI. on July 12, 2-5 pm.
