Brian Richard Feeney passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at the young age of 54. He was born in Queens, NY on December 3, 1970 and recently moved back to Burlington, NC to be closer to family. Brian is preceded in death by his adored father, Richard Henry Feeney and is survived by his loving mother Janet Elaine Feeney and beloved sister's Kristine Marie McAllister and Theresa Ann Wilson (Michael). Among his immediate family he also leaves behind many beautiful nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Brian was a retired United States Air Force Veteran where he served 10 years in the transportation field. During his time, he earned The Meritorious Service Medal among several other honorable recognitions which he quietly accepted as he was humble and just proud to serve his country. His fellow service members often referred to him as "The Gentle Giant' as all who knew him knew his love for physical fitness and his passion for weight lifting since a young teenager, His large stature was just that, as underneath it all, he was a Gentle Giant and kind to all.
Brian was most recently working at Greensboro Auto Auction as he loved working on cars and would drop anything to help family or friends find that perfect vehicle. He loved to ensure you had the safest crash rating as he was always worried about our safety. Among his love for cars, family and the gym his most comforting times were those he spent with his own cat or dog as he was truly the Animal Whisperer. Brian’s quiet demeanor seemed to make him the perfect companion for virtually any animal whether it be in the home, or the outside birds, squirrels, stray or lost pets. He had a way of calming them and they felt safe in his presence. It seems that feeling was reciprocated as it was truly Brian's happy place.
All that knew Brian will miss his dry sarcastic sense of humor, love for his family, nature and his never-ending knowledge of things that you didn't know you needed to know. Brian will be sorely missed by us all. Fly High Brian until we meet again and May you Rest in Peace.
A celebration of Brian's Life will be held at 2:00pm Friday March 7th, 2025 at St. Mark’s Church with military honors, officiating by Pastor Ben Bishop.
