Brian Ray Griswold, 65, a lifelong Coffeyville resident, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from injuries received in a automobile accident.

He was born on March 13, 1960, in Coffeyville to Ray and Shirley (Nichols) Griswold. Brian grew up and attended school in Coffeyville, graduating from Field Kindley High School in 1978.

On June 4, 1983, Brian married the love of his life Ginny Bowman in Coffeyville. Following their marriage, they made their home in Coffeyville where they raised their family. Brian was employed as a fabricator at Hackney in Independence.

Brian was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Coffeyville. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, sitting in the front yard listening to the St. Louis Cardinals on the radio, watching the Kansas City Chiefs, fixing anything that needed fixed, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Ginny of the home; his children, Jarrod Griswold and wife, Faith of Joplin, Missouri, and Ashley Griswold of Dubuque, Iowa; his sisters, Tracy Sandon and husband Mark of Davenport, Iowa, and Linda Sheline of Coffeyville; his grandchildren, Isaiah Griswold and Ellianah Griswold of Joplin, Missouri; his grand cats, Ziggy and Leela; his mother-in-law, Charlene Bowman of Coffeyville; brother-in-law, Mike Bowman of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Cindy Mansell and husband, Rob of Norman, Oklahoma; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Shirley Griswold, and his father-in-law, Allen Bowman.

Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, September 21, 2025, at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.

Funeral services celebrating Brian's life will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 22, 2025, at the Bible Baptist Church, 701 W. 4th St. in Coffeyville with Pastor Daniel Knight officiating. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. to service time. Burial will follow the service in Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville.

The family suggests memorials in Brian's memory to Coffeyville Friends of Animals; contributions may be left with or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
