I know you've been gone for 5 years now, but I just learned about your passing very recently. Either way, I'm very sorry to be writing this so late...either way, please hear me out.

Brian, I haven't seen you in years. Not since we graduated high school together. And to be honest, we didn't really know each other too well back in school, either. But from what I do remember about you, the times that we did talk, you were a very nice person. You treated me with respect, despite barely knowing me yet still knowing that I wasn't very well-liked or popular among our fellow peers.

So now I'm looking back at those few times that we talked and think about how those memories showed a clear picture of what type of person you really were...a kind-hearted young man.
