LIMA -- Brian Dean Hollar, 55, of Lima, entered into the arms of Jesus on September 29, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with kidney cancer.
A beloved son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather, Brian was born on September 8, 1970, to Ralph and Linda (Gatliff) Hollar of Lima. In addition to his parents, Brian is survived by his devoted wife, Kristina (Spears) Hollar; his children, Jenna (Jacob) Lochard and Jared Hollar (fiancé Michaela Stoltzfus); and his cherished grandchildren, Seth and Emmett Lochard. He also leaves behind his brother, Kevin (Michelle) Hollar, and his sister, Laurie (Josh) Elsass; as well as nieces and nephews, Corey Hollar, Rylee Hollar, Carson Hollar, Kamyrn Hollar, Keaton Elsass, Kylie Elsass, and Malorie Elsass.
He is also survived by his parents-in-law, Mark and Kathy (Pohlman) Spears; sisters-in-law Kim (Todd Extine) Spears and Kendra (Ryan) Maurice; and nieces and nephews, Gabe and Lana Maurice and Katy Schoonover. Katy held a special place in Brian's heart and was like a second daughter to him.
Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bert and Dolores Gatliff and Dean and Eileen Hollar.
Brian's greatest joy in life was his family. He was a proud and loving father who loved his children above all else. Becoming a grandfather was one of his life's greatest blessings. Brian's devotion to his family was unwavering, and the love he poured into them will live on for generations to come.
Brian was a proud owner of a 2008 Shelby GT 500 and loved rock n' roll. At home, he found companionship in his dogs, Zoey and Mazey. Brian worked at Honda for 30 years.
