Brian Michael Johnson

Brian Michael Johnson, age 43, of Cumberland, Kentucky, was tragically taken from this world far too soon at his home on Coldiron Branch in Cumberland, Kentucky on November 22, 2025. His sudden and senseless death has left an unfillable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Born to Dellis Johnson of Jenkins, Kentucky, and the late Laura Hall, Brian lived his life authentically and unapologetically, always to the beat of his own drum. He was a man of many passions: ginsenging through the hills he called home, welding with skill and pride, hunting in the woods he loved, and spending quiet evenings absorbed in documentaries that fed his curious mind.
But what those who loved Brian will remember most was his infectious spirit and his gift for making people laugh. His hilarious antics could light up any room and turn an ordinary day into something memorable. Behind the laughter was a man who loved his family fiercely and without reservation, a devotion that defined who he was at his core.
Brian's life should not have ended this way. He deserved to watch his sons grow, to create more memories with his beloved wife, and to continue filling the world with his unique brand of joy and laughter. The cruelty of violence has stolen him from us, but it cannot erase the love he gave or the memories he created.
He now rests in peace, reunited with his precious daughter, Katie Fields, and his mother, Laura Hall.
Brian's memory will be forever cherished and carried on by his devoted wife, Karrie Fields Johnson; his loving sons, Hunter Johnson and John Johnson, both of Cumberland, Kentucky; his father, Dellis Johnson of Jenkins, Kentucky; his brothers, Derrick Collins of Neon, Kentucky, Harley Johnson of Jenkins, Kentucky, and Jimmy Brown of Whitesburg, Kentucky; his sister, Jenny Johnson of Whitco, Kentucky; and countless other family members and friends whose lives he touched with his laughter and love.
The pain of losing Brian in such a violent and unthinkable way is immeasurable. His family asks for privacy, prayers, and justice as they navigate this devastating loss.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Cumberland Valley Funeral Home from 6 pm to 7 pm.
