Brian Frederick Jongeling

Brian Frederick Jongeling, age 68 of Ottertail, MN, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 14, 2025, after battling several health issues in recent years.

He was born March 1, 1957 to Ernest and Helen Jongeling in Sioux Falls, SD. He attended District #87, a one-room school house in Chancellor, SD in 1963, then moved with his family to Battle Lake, MN, where they owned and operated Deer Lake Resort for many years. Brian loved the outdoors but his passion was small engine repair, making sure resort guest's boats ran perfectly.

Brian graduated from Battle Lake High School in 1977 and then joined the United States Air Force. Afterwards, he operated his own small engine repair business for many years.

Brian attended Basswood Baptist Church in Richville, MN for many years. He seriously studied and discussed the word of God and developed a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Surviving Brian are his brothers, Harvey (Vera) Jongeling of Chancellor, SD and Kevin (Dana) Jongeling of St. Joseph, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James.

Brian's family suggests memorial donations to Basswood Baptist Church, 38188 340th St, Richville, MN 56576.

Brian has been cremated and there will be no scheduled services.
