In Loving Memory of Attorney Brian Kern:
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Attorney Brian Kern, who peacefully received his heavenly wings on Sunday, June 30, 2024. Brian was a beacon of strength, kindness, and dedication, leaving behind a legacy that touched countless lives within his community and beyond.
Born and raised in Shawano, Wisconsin, Brian attended St. James Lutheran School, which laid the foundation for his lifelong commitment to service and compassion. He went on to become a seasoned attorney, known not just for his legal acumen but also for his unwavering dedication to justice and community service.
Brian was the co-founder of WHALER's Creation, a nonprofit organization committed to providing job skills, training, housing, and food for kids aging out of foster care, as well as educating the community about adoption and foster care. His visionary leadership and boundless compassion helped shape the organization into a beacon of hope for many.
Beyond his professional achievements, Brian was a man of diverse talents and passions. He was a 2nd-degree black belt in martial arts, an amateur boxer, and a dedicated runner. His commitment to community service was evident through his involvement in various organizations, including the Moose, Elks, and American Legion.
Brian's most cherished role was that of a husband and father. He was married to the love of his life, LaToria Kern, for 29 wonderful years. Together, they opened their hearts and home to over 100 foster and adoptive children, providing them with love, stability, and guidance.
Brian's legacy of compassion, generosity, and unwavering commitment to making a difference will resonate for years to come. He will be deeply missed by his wife, LaToria, their children, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
