Brian, I miss you so much and I think about you often. I hope you know how much we all love you. When we get together we talk about the fun times we all had together.
You would be proud of your niece and two nephews. Surely they have been influenced by the words of wisdom you imparted to them while they were growing up. You left them with great memories of times well spent.
Please know that you were loved by all who knew you.
Rest in peace.

I just spent another birthday without Brian's presence at my party, however, Brian was there in my heart. He will always be in my thoughts. Brian is at rest at King David Cemetery in Bensalem, PA. My mom and dad are resting
very close to him and looking after him. At family gatherings we talk about him and celebrate his life with us. There are tons of happy memories of Brian. Tons of pictures of Brian growing up. There is a picture of Brian that I see every morning as I descend the stairs. Now, I can smile when I look at it, as I remember the good times we had together. Brian's soul is here with us. Brian was a special person, and his spirit will live forever in our hearts. Love, Aunt Shishee. That's what Brian called me the first time he called my name. And, it stuck.

It's been over one year since my dear nephew, Brian, was taken from our family. Today is also Yom Kippur, a day of mourning. We miss his hearty laugh, we miss his sense of humor, we miss his attentiveness, his caring. Essentially, his very presence in our lives.
Brian, you are in our thoughts and will be forever.
Love,
Aunt Shish

Not a day goes by that I don't think about a you my magnificent son, so unique in every way.
Brian was the most loving, caring, giving, intelligent, original, and nonmaterialistic person that I ever met.
I was so proud to be his mother.

What can I say about Brian?! He was the must honest and forthright person I have ever known. He was a joy, yes Brian was a joy! Our friendship started over 37 years ago! He loved to read and so did and so was started the longest book discussion, argument, and disagreement! I will miss our monthly dinner/coffee talks. Our random phone calls about any thing. He could keep up with me in subjects!

My condolences does not seem to say as much as I feel! He was my friend!

This is very sad news. I worked with Brian in the late '90s and always enjoyed discussing comic books and other aspects of pop culture. He was a great guy and is missed. My deepest condolences.

I have been so sad since finding out that Brian passed away. I worked with Brian from 2011-2015 at the Free Library, and we shared jokes, music and movies. I always enjoyed running into him at the Book Corner over the past 5 years since I transferred to another building. I'd like to share a video he emailed me a few years ago, which combines jokes, music and movies into one, a Chico and Harpo Marx Piano Duet: https://archive.org/details/ChicoAndHarpoMarxPianoDiet
Peace and love to Brian's family and friends.

Brian didn't speak much about his private life but after reading all of your wonderful comments about him I found it quite comforting. He had a special life, always doing exactly what he wanted to do with many good friends and family that totally cared and loved him. Thanks for being such good friends and much love from all my heart.

I've known Brian for over a decade as he was an ever-constant and always welcome presence at gaming nights hosted at my home. There was much to admire and enjoy about Brian as a gamer, but it was the end of night conversations about literature, politics, movies that made him a beloved friend. Beyond his sheer depth of knowledge of just about everything under the sun, and the quickness of his wit, there was a deep compassion and genuine interest in others, and a warmth that was unmatched. He was also the bringer of small surprise gifts - always perfectly thoughtful and so reflective of his generous spirit. It is a hard loss to consider that we will never again sit across a table and share a game together, or a moment of loud laughter. My sympathies are with his family and to the many others who considered Brian a rare and wondrous friend.

I worked w Brian at now Materials Mtgn. and we talked on different issues of the day, mostly social and political. Deep discussion or dip in and out, it was a positive learning experience. May God bless and sustain his family and friends and savor their memories of him.

Sincere condolences to Brian's family and friends. For eleven years he was a colleague in Materials Management and we would often consult about classifying video and audio materials, so we had many lively, fun conversations about movies and music. He had such a wry, dry sense of humor in addition to his intelligence and kind heart. Rest in peace and beauty, Brian.

Brian was a true and brilliant friend. I met Brian more than 20 years ago working together and FLoP. Our enjoyment of chess and shared love of laughter turned into a friendship that has continued online with daily exchanges of moves and chat. Few men were as honest and open as Brian. My condolences to his family. He loved his family and, as someone else mentioned, his nieces and nephews were the light of his life. There will be a void where Brian trod.

I worked with Brian for 17 years at the Philadelphia Library. He shared his love of music with me and gave me lessons on how to understand gaming; which was beyond my comprehension! He was very bright and our conversations always gave me another prospective on whatever subject we talked about. I know for sure that his niece and nephews were the highlight of his life. He had a certain sparkle (the only time I've seen him mushy!) when he spoke about them. I truly am sorry for your loss and I will be praying for comfort and peace for the family.

[From my post on Facebook]
My heart is heavy tonight with news of the passing of a good friend. Brian has been attending my weekly game night since 2008 after meeting him at the local game club.

Everyone who knew him loved him and his generous spirit and hearty laugh. He was as generous a competitor as he was tough to beat. It was always an honor to beat him and a pleasure to sit at the table for hours with him calling each other "jerk."

He's been coming to my game nights almost every week, hardly missing one, for the past 12 years which makes him my most regular friend, and I miss him terribly already. He was just one of those people you were always happy to see, and it was an open secret he was everyone's favorite to see on game night.

He was a big guy so "Big Brian" became his nickname. He went from shaggy to clean shaven in cycles kind of like that old Wooly Willy toy. He was a genuine person who, when he asked you about you, he really wanted to know.
He worked at the Free Library for 30 years and is the most well read person I've ever met, quick to recommend a read then show up with the book for you the next week. His background as a ranked chess player made him a formidable opponent. He would also equivocate and play Devil's Advocate which annoyed the hell out of me at times. Funny how it was annoying at the time but charming in hindsight.

He will be missed and yet always with us at the game table. I will forever call the seat across from me, "Brian's Chair."

Here's to all the good times we had, my friend. Miss you, big guy.

Brian and I would play games regularly on Friday nights for a few years in a row.

He had this way of showing
me how much he cares about me... I can only remember Brian smiling a deep heartfelt smile whenever he saw me. I was unequivocally welcome around him. He is my dear friend.

Late Friday nights, After gaming was over, I would regularly walk with him to the bus stop... talking about games or life or strategies... He had a way of seeing strategies and pushing me to be better... He always seemed to do exactly the move i wanted to do... right before i did it...

In gaming there's every kind of dynamic... and Brian's was a humble mastery

I remember the last time I saw him walking down the street, and I was driving I pulled over to get out of the car just because it's always a pleasure talking with Brian. And we were just two people happy that the other exists...

I'm so thankful to know you Brian

I would need many pages to describe my nephew, Brian. He was caring and kind, sympathetic, generous, He was a live and let live man, free spirited in many ways. Brian was himself a “library” with a wealth of knowledge on many subjects from the classics to current events. To me Brian was a very special individual and he will be forever in my thoughts. REST IN PEACE BRIAN. I love you.
