Brian Long Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Earle Funeral Home - Blackwood on Mar. 26, 2026.
Brian Fuller Long, born May 25, 1968, passed away on March 12, 2026.

Brian was born and raised in Southern New Jersey. As a child, he cherished trips to visit family in Front Royal, Virginia, where he fell in love with the Blue Ridge mountains and the Shenandoah Valley. As a young adult, he often returned with friends to visit family, especially his beloved uncle Jeff, enjoying daredevil maneuvers cruising up and down the mountains with his truck.

At home, he loved playing sports with friends and was known for putting anyone he could in a headlock and shouting, "Full Nelson". He also engaged in all the exciting revelry that goes with rock-n-roll concerts.

Throughout his life, Brian was stubbornly true to himself. He hustled wherever he was employed. He held a variety of jobs, including working for the state in the transportation department. One of his tasks was driving snowplows to clear the roads through storms. His true passion, however, was being a cook. He worked at Cifelli's in Lindenwold for many years, where he developed close relationships and easily charmed those around him. He had an abundance of energy that made him masterful of working long hours while still maintaining a vibrant social scene.

Brian was an avid football fan. When the Eagles won the Superbowl in 2018, he was among the crowd shouting and celebrating in Philadelphia with his daughter and friends. Brian also enjoyed barbecuing, playing horseshoes, late poker games, midnight bowling, Wii bowling, and strumming the bass guitar, often jamming with friends. He humorously enjoyed provoking his family and friends, always with good-natured charisma. Despite facing various medical challenges later in life, he still enthusiastically found another form of enjoyment in the solace of prayer and gospel hymns of faith.

He lives in the memories of his devoted parents, Robert Fuller Long (Peggy Long) and Diane Woodrow (Dave Woodrow); his adored daughter and best friend, Deirdre Anne Long; his older sister, Annette Manos, who always looked after him; as well as his younger sister, Katrina Bates, and Katrina's son, Jake. He is also survived by his only niece, Denise Plegaria, his cousin Nora, her son Alex, along with many relatives, and dear friends.

"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me: your rod and your staff, they comfort me".

Brian will be remembered by all who loved him.
