Brian Douglas Martin passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2009, in a Baytown hospital. He was born May 26, 1949, in Houston to James Lee and Kathryn (Alm) Martin. He was an electrician and part owner in Lynx Electric Company for 25 years. He was a member of Northeast Houston Baptist Church and the North Channel Chamber of Commerce. Brian loved hunting, fishing, golf, barbequing, working with his dogs, and riding his Harley. His pride and joy was his grandson, Samuel. He lived life to the fullest. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Brian is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gary Lee Martin; and a daughter, Kristie Dawn Martin. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Judy Martin, of Crosby; daughter, Stephanie Nutt and husband, Terry, of Wylie; one grandson, Samuel Nutt; sisters-in-law, Anne Martin, Shirley Ellisor and husband, Don, Betty Guinn, Joan Yeats and husband, Barry, and Cynthia Branch; best friend, Charlie Beckham and wife, Sharon; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 1, 2009, at Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be Friday morning, 10:00 a.m. at Fellowship of the Nations Church, 13305 Woodforest Blvd., Houston, TX 77015, with Rev. Nathan Lino officiating. Burial will follow at San Jacinto Cemetery. Honoring the family as pallbearers will be Bill Manahan, Gary Freeman, Ken Cooper, David Haydel, Hal Sanders, Gary Connors, Kent Black and Sean Carrizal. Memorial donations may be made to the Kristie Dawn Martin Memorial Scholarship Fund at any Woodforest Bank or Northeast Houston Baptist Church Building Fund. Arrangements have been entrusted to Crespo & Jirrels Funeral and Cremation Services, 6123 Garth Rd, Baytown, Texas 77521, 281-839-0700.
