Brian Joseph Maxwell, also known as "BMax," age 49, of Laurel, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly on March 30, 2026, following a heart attack.
Born in Rapid City, South Dakota, to Joseph and Marlene Maxwell, Brian earned a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from Strayer University and dedicated his life to serving his country. He proudly served 12 years in the U.S. Army as an Information Systems Operations Analyst, retiring with the rank of Staff Sergeant. During his military career, Brian completed a tour in South Korea and worked with the White House Communications Agency, where he served several presidents and was honored with a Presidential Service Certificate for Honorable Service in the White House from President George W. Bush.
After his military retirement, Brian continued his commitment to public service as a government contractor. His exceptional technical expertise led him to the Department of Education, where he served as an IT Specialist and received numerous awards recognizing his innovative solutions and outstanding contributions that went above and beyond.
Brian was a devoted husband and father who treasured time with his family. An avid Denver Broncos fan, he enjoyed fishing and especially loved Rita's Italian Ice trips with his son, Tanner. His wittiness and dedication to excellence left lasting impressions on all who knew him.
Brian is survived by his beloved wife, Caryn Maxwell; his son, Tanner Maxwell (11); his sister, Michelle Attig (Kevin), and his nephew, Matthew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Marlene Maxwell.
