Brian Lamonte Mosley, Sr. was born to Britton Mosley, Sr., and the late Stella Mae Collins on March 15, 1972, in Pascagoula, Mississippi. With his family by his side, he gained heavenly wings on Saturday, February 8, 2025.
Brian was preceded in death by his beloved son, Brian LamonteMosley, Jr. (BJ), his paternal grandparents, Rufus and Ethel Mosley, maternal grandparents Frank and Eula Jones, and his stepfather Frank Collins.
Brian was raised in
Moss Point, Mississippi, and was a proud graduate of Moss Point High School, Class of 1990. After high school, he answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Army, demonstrating his dedication, courage, and sense of duty.
Brian graduated from basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, in 1990 and later reported to Kaiserslautern, Germany, where he served from 1991 to 1993. During his time there, he was part of Operation Desert Storm, later known as the Gulf War. Upon returning to the United States, Brian was stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana, from 1993 to 1994. He was later honorably discharged from the U.S. Army as an E4 Specialist.
Following his military service, Brian began a career at Ingalls Shipbuilding. He completed the rigorous three-year apprenticeship program, graduating at the top of his class. He worked several years as a ship fitter, demonstrating his skill and dedication until he was injured on the job.
Among Brian's greatest joys in life was raising his son, BJ. Their bond was unbreakable, filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories that will live on forever. As a father, Brian was a guiding light, a source of strength, and an unwavering supporter of his son's dreams and aspirations.
Beyond his professional and military accomplishments, Brian had a deep passion for poetry and art. He was a gifted writer and artist, creating hundreds of original writings and drawings throughout his life. His work reflected his thoughts, emotions, and experiences, capturing moments of joy, resilience, and introspection. Whether through the stroke of a pen or a brush on paper, Brian's creativity was a true testament to his soul. His poetry and artwork will continue to inspire and serve as a lasting legacy of his talent and passion.
His family and friends will deeply miss Brian and all who were blessed to know him. His kindness, resilience, and love will live on in the hearts of those he touched. Though he has left this world, his legacy will forever remain in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
Brian leaves to cherish his precious memories with his devoted father, Britton Mosley Sr. of Sherman, TX; two loving grandsons, Apollo Mosley, and Lawson Mosley, both of
Moss Point, MS; and a precious granddaughter, Akila Mosley of Pascagoula, MS. He is also survived by his devoted sisters, Brenitra Mosley of Frisco, TX, and Dana McWilliams of Philadelphia, MS, as well as his dedicated brothers, Britton Mosley Jr. (Kayla) of Chicago, IL, and Eugene Pharr (Laquenda) of California; great-aunt, Mattie Harrison of Pascagoula, MS; MD, two loving nieces, Kailyn Lee of Frisco, TX and MaKayla Pharr of California, MD, and step-mother Brenda Debose-Mosley of State Line, MS. He leaves behind two faithful friends, Corey (Kema) Harris, and Eric Blackmon. In addition to his immediate family, Brian's memory will be cherished by a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
