Brian M. Murphy, 75, of Hamden, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Yale New Haven Hospital with his loving wife by his side. He was born in Queens, NY, on February 1, 1950, and was the son of the late Patrick and Anne McCabe Murphy. Brian was the beloved husband of 19 years to Maureen Sullivan Murphy. Brian was a career construction executive, working in the curtainwall and glass sector of commercial construction. He was an avid New York Giants fan and had a deep passion for cooking, playing and watching golf. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brothers Dennis Murphy, Michael Murphy (Susan), niece Rose Murphy all of Asheville, NC, niece Megan Baine (Burton) and great niece Ava of Windsor, CO, nephew Adam Kautz, and niece Chloe Murphy-Symmes. He is also survived by his mother in law Mrs. Eleanor Sullivan of Hamden, CT, brother in law William Sullivan Jr. of Somerville, MA, brother in law Daniel Sullivan of Citrus Springs, FL, sister in law Eleanor Biondo (Anthony) of Wallingford, CT, nephew Shannon Sullivan (Marla) of Maitland, FL, nephew Ryan Carone of Zancudo, Costa Rica and several great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Patricia Murphy, Kevin Murphy, Terence Murphy, and nephew Alan Kautz. Brian is also survived by his beloved dog Coco of seven years.

The visiting hours will be on Tuesday, January 27th from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM in The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A service will be conducted in the funeral home at 12:30. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society by visiting www.cancer.org or an animal shelter of one's choice.
