Brian Wesley Reel, age 47 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Monday morning, August 26, 2024, at the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. Born on March 23, 1977, in Winchester, VA, he was a son of Darl V. (Crystal) Reel of Moorefield, WV and the late Brenda Ellen Shoemaker Reel. He is also preceded in death by his grandparents Boyd & Hazel Shoemaker and Dave & Sue Reel. Brian attended Moorefield High School and played football for the Yellow Jackets. Brian worked at Pilgrim’s Pride, American Woodmark, ENVIRCO, and different trucking companies over the years.
Brian enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing in a band. He was in a band for the church, First Baptist Church in Petersburg, WV, and played the drums. Brian enjoyed making people laugh and always knew how to make people smile. Brian had a good soul and always meant well. He always had a helping hand for others and left a positive impact on numerous people’s lives. When you’re looking up at the night sky and notice there is a star brighter than the others, people will know that is Brian making the night brighter for all of us.
Brian leaves behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and compassion through his daughter, Calei Natasha Reel of Brunswick, OH; and son, Conner Brian Reel of Lahmansville, WV; his brother, Darl “Punky” (Eddyta) Reel; niece and nephew, Khrizia Reel & Aiden Reel and extended family and friends.
On Monday, September 2, 2024, a funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM at the Petersburg First Baptist Church, 112 Virginia Avenue, Petersburg, WV. Guided by Pastors Shannon Earle and Rick Bergdoll, this service will be a somber yet uplifting occasion to honor the memory of a man who touched so many. Interment will follow the service in the Crites-Eye Cemetery, Moorefield. WV. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Sunday at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street in Moorefield, WV.
