Brian Risner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Williams-Gores Funeral Home on Feb. 4, 2025.
Brian Keith Risner, a cherished coach, mentor, and friend, passed away on February 1, 2025, at the age of 52. Brian was born on November 27, 1972, the son of Hancel and Juanita (Hoyt) Risner. Brian dedicated much of his life to nurturing young talent and sportsmanship as the varsity baseball coach for Delton Kellogg, as a freshman coach for Kentwood, and impacting countless lives through his work with several travel teams.
Brian's love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for fishing and hunting, hobbies that he often shared with those close to him. An enthusiastic NASCAR fan and ardent supporter of Detroit's own Lions and Tigers, he reveled in the spirit of competition and camaraderie.
Known for a sense of humor that could light up any room, Brian's infectious laugh and capacity to draw out laughter from others will be dearly missed. His resilience as a tough individual, coupled with a well of wisdom, guided many through challenges both on and off the field. Brian's indelible legacy will be warmly remembered and celebrated by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Brian is survived by his children, Hailee (Kadden Russell) Risner and Tyler Risner, siblings, Kenneth Risner, Gordon Risner, and Annette Marshall, several nieces and nephews, many from his baseball family, and grand dog, Buddy. Brian was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert Risner, and brother in law, Russell Marshall.
A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, February 23, 2025, 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the Orangeville Township Hall. Please visit www.williamsgoresfuneral.com to share a memory or to leave a condolence message for Brian's family.
