Brian William Schenk

I volunteered with Brian for ten years with the Austin Steam Train's Hill Country Flyer from 1995 to 2004. I was a Crew Chief and enjoyed working with Brian very much. If I ever needed someone to work as a car attendant, I knew I could always call Brian and his only question would be "What time do you need me there?"

I especially enjoyed his knowledge and history of the railroad and the articles that sometimes appeared in our railroad newsletter "The Whistle Post" under his byline. They were always entertaining as well as informative. He was a wonderful volunteer, a great man, and I will miss him mightily.
