Brian Shaw Obituary

Brian Shaw

July 15, 1957 - December 18, 2025

Brian Mark Shaw, 68, of Timberland, died Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Indianhead Medical Center. He was born July 15, 1957 in Cumberland to Ben and Aleta (Thorp) Shaw, was raised in Cumberland, and graduated from Cumberland High School. He served 4 years with the US Army before returning to Cumberland. He was married in Barron on June 29, 1985, to Mari Odden. He worked over 35 years at 3M, and after retirement, he and Mari fulfilled their dream of moving to Timberland.

Brian was a caring father, not only to his son, Jeremy, but to his beloved stepdaughters, who he considered his own. He loved fishing, hunting, and camping, visiting with his many friends (many of whom were lifelong), and completing projects with his son.

He is survived by wife, Mari; son, Jeremy (Rebecca Snow) Shaw; step-daughters, Reyna Zappetillo and Becky Zappetillo. He was "Papa" to Miranda (Kyle) Hanke, Caleb Michlig, Austin Henrichsmeyer, and Cailey Michlig; and Great Papa to Grace Hanke. He is also survived by brother, Michael (Sherry) Shaw of Ridgeland; aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives, as well as countless friends. Brian was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Steven Shaw; cousin Leonard.

A time of sharing will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 26, 2025 at Skinner Funeral Home in Cumberland, with military honors accorded by the Cumberland American Legion and the Wisconsin Military Honors Team after the service. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.
