ORANGE- Brian B. Shufelt, 78, formerly of Glenwood Avenue, died late Saturday afternoon, February 21, 2026 at Blaire House of Worcester.

Born in Barton, Vermont on January 19, 1948, he was the son of the Leonard and Bertha (Baldwin) Shufelt and grew up in Barton, moving to Orange, Massachusetts in his teens.

In 1965, he married Deborah A. (Tatro) and they enjoyed over 56 years until her death on November 2, 2022.

Brian was employed by the L. S. Starrett Company in Athol for 40 years, retiring in 2007. He previously worked for Thom McCaan a couple years and following his retirement, he worked for Hannaford Supermarket several years.

To say Brian was an avid Red Sox fan would be an understatement. He loved anything and everything Red Sox and was proud of his Red Sox ring. Brian also enjoyed gardening, playing softball on the Starrett league for many years, decorating his home for Christmas, loved his pugs but most of all he loved his family. For years he enjoyed riding to New Hampshire.

Brian had been a member of the Orange American Legion.

Ever a kind hearted man, Brian always helped others and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Brian leaves his daughters, Wendy Kelleher (Jack) and Shelly St. Hilaire; grandchildren, Caitlyn Richardson (Josh), Seth Woodbury (Aimee), Devin Belden, Andrew Nicoletti, and Desiree Belden; great grandchildren, Sofia Fredette, Owen Richardson, Wyatt Woodbury and Eden Nicoletti. Brian also leaves behind his siblings, James Shufelt Sr., Bonnie Rumrill (John), Terrance Shufelt, and Kevin Shufelt (Mary); many nephews and nieces; and good friends of many years, Ruby and Ralph Elliott.
