Brian Sweet Obituary

Published by D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home on May 25, 2007.
Brian Donald Sweet, age 48 of Chesterfield Township formerly of Detroit, Ypsilanti, and Omaha Nebraska, died Friday, May 25, 2007 at the V.A. Hospital in Detroit Michigan. Brian was born November 05, 1958 in Detroit, Michigan the son of Donald F. Sweet and the late Adeline (nee: Stumkat) North. He is survived by his loving children, Tara Sweet of San Francisco, and Ryan Sweet of Alameda, California. Also surviving is his father Donald (Paulette) Sweet, siblings; Ken (Tammy) Sweet, Greg Sweet, and Randy (Karen) Sweet. Brian is also survived by many loving family members and friends. Brian was predeceased by his beloved mother Adeline North. Brian was raised in Detroit and later in Ypsilanti Michigan. He graduated National Honor Society in 1976 from Ypsilanti High School. After high school Brian attended Anderson Christian College in Indiana, but after one year he felt life held more for him so he moved on, working for a year back in Michigan with the National Bank of Detroit, before he felt a new calling to serve his country. Brian served in the United States Air Force, enlisting in 1981 and served his country for over eight years before he received his honorable discharge. After Brians discharge from the military, he returned to Michigan where he would enroll back in College at Eastern Michigan University where he would graduate in 1995 Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Business Degree. Once Brian graduated he was highly recruited by many companies and eventually settled on working for Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company as an Actuary. Brian worked for the Mutual of Omaha until his retirement in 2005. After his retirement he moved back to Michigan to be with his family. While in Michigan he worked as a consultant and enjoyed golfing with his dad and brothers. Brian was the consummate practical joker, some may remember the FART machine, and took pride in embarrassing people, but his true passion was his children and family. He loved family time, watching movies, tinkering with his electronics, and just hanging out and embarrassing friends. Visitation for Brian Sweet will be held Tuesday May 29th , from 2-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common Road (12 Mile), in Warren, Michigan. A funeral service will be held Tuesday evening at 7:30 pm. Officiating the funeral will be Rev. A.C. Phipps. Memorial donations are appreciated in Brians and his mother's memory to the Alzheimers Association.
