I am so very sorry to learn of Brian’s passing. He and I had become friends on social media several years ago and had messaged each other a few times a year. I had not had a reply to my last message and found out today. My deepest condolences to his friends and family. What a great guy he was and what a terrible loss to the world. Taken far too soon with so much more to offer.

Brian Travers is a legend in my eyes!!! Growing up in the mid to late seventy's UB40 and The Specials were the bands I was hooked on. From the moment I saw BT play the sax that's what I wanted to do. The next bit should read that I went on to play the sax with a top band....alas that didn't happen although I did buy a tenor and had lessons for a year or so but work and life got in the way. The sax is currently in my loft still awaiting my BT moment....
He played the sax so effortlessly and with real joy....Having watched some interviews with him over the last day or so I realise what a top guy he was.
RIP Brian and maybe one day you could teach me the sax?

Absolutely devastated , as a young boy idolising ub40, I was hanging around outside fazely street studios and Brian and Norman came out a spent over an hour talking to me. It ment so much that they took the time. Rest in peace my friend .
