Brian Edward Widmann

My deepest love surrounds Brian's family during this difficult time. My heart goes out especially to his children, who attended school with my own children and are the same ages. Brian and I initially connected at various school functions at Bromwell Elementary, but we quickly discovered a deeper link: he was a neighbor and close friend to Woody and Celeste, who are family to me. From 2021 to 2024, I had the privilege of caring for Papa Woody, and we walked around the block daily. During those walks, we often stopped to chat with Brian when he was out in his front yard tending his garden. Brian consistently demonstrated genuine consideration and care for Woody. Brian and I shared another connection, too: we both grew up in this neighborhood and shared the distinct experience of being Denver East High Angels. We will hold this Angel forever in our hearts.

I am absolutely heart broken at the news of Brian's passing. This feels incredibly selfish, as I know his loss is so much greater for his family and loved ones. I went to graduate school with Brian, and he was just a constant source of light and humor--at a time in my life where, frankly, there wasn't an abundance of either. We exchanged occasional emails over the years and yet, he was the rare person, who, regardless of the infrequency of contact, was often on my mind. All my love to those who feel his loss. Tim Richards
