Brian Lee Witters

Brian Lee Witters, 53, of North Vernon, passed away at 10:34 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Ascension St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon. He was born on September 28, 1972, in Seymour, the son of David L. Witters and Ava Marie Coombs. He was a lifelong resident of Jennings County and a 1990 graduate of Jenning County High School. Brian enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and boating. Brian married Deborah Spurgin on May 27, 2017, in North Vernon, and she survives. Other survivors include his father and stepmother, David L. and Nancymae Witters of North Vernon; his brother, David E. (Linda) Witters of Hayden; his half-sister, Stephanie (Antonio) Garcia of Seymour; his half-brother, Michael Smith of Seymour; his niece, Briana Lynch and his nephews, Dustin Witters and David Clark. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Elsie Knott. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport. Burial will follow at the Westport Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11 from 2:00 p.m. until time of service at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
