Bridget Butt was born on December 14, 1969, in Aurora, Nebraska, to John and Vereen (Hormann) Gaughen.

She attended and graduated from Central City High School. She later obtained her cosmetology license from Joseph’s College of Cosmetology. Bridget spent much of her childhood riding horses alongside her lifelong best friend, Jaci (Roach) Dettman.

Bridget met her high school sweetheart, soulmate, and husband, Randy Butt. The two were united in marriage on September 28, 1991. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and family outside of Central City. Bridget and Randy were blessed with two children, Zachary and Lindsey.

Bridget’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, especially her beloved grandchildren, Beckham, Raelynn and Huxley. She cherished side-by-side rides, horseback riding, walking outdoors, camping, fishing, jeeping, and spending time with her dogs. She followed her children through every adventure of life, including school, sports, and all of their outdoor activities and hobbies. Her joy for life was contagious, and she had a bigger-than-life smile that could light up any room.

Bridget also had a true passion for doing hair, a craft she excelled in for nearly 30 years. Through her career, she met countless meaningful clients who became part of her life, as well as the ladies of the salon who became part of her family.

Bridget is survived by her husband, Randy Butt of Central City; her children, Zachary (Layne) Butt of Central City and Lindsey (Riley) Malasek of St. Paul; her grandchildren, Beckham Butt and Raelynn and Huxley Malasek; her mother, Vereen Gaughen; her mother-in-law, Marilyn Butt; her brother, John (T.J.) Gaughen; her sisters-in-law, Deb (Jeff) Hooker, Nancy (Tim) Harlow, Jill (Kenny) Kearney, and Becky (Tracy) Fuelberth; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She is also survived by special friends, “Lil’ Roach Best Buddy,” Lisa Foulk, and T.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Gaughen; her father-in-law, Roger Butt; her grandmothers, Marian Hormann and Emma Gaughen; and her grandfathers, Earl Hormann and LaVern Gaughen.
