Coy, Bridget C.
ALBANY - Bridget Celine Coy (née Kenneally) of Albany, N.Y., age 93, passed away on December 25, 2025, at Albany Medical Center. Born in Newport, County Tipperary, Ireland, on August 28, 1932, she was the daughter of Thomas Kenneally and Mary McKeough Kenneally.
Bridie as she was known to many, came to the United States in the mid-1950s and initially worked at Albany Medical Center in the Records Department. She later worked at the New York Telephone Company. She was active in the Catholic Young Adult League in Albany, where she met and married Thomas "Tom" Coy. She continued to work at the New York Telephone until her oldest, T.K. was born. She then chose to forgo her career to focus on raising her three children.
She is survived by her children, T.K. Coy (Holly), Mary Beth Kinoshita (Roy) and Celine Coy; her six grandchildren, Allyssa Graham (David), Andrew Coy, Alexis Coy (Jesse), Abigail Coy (Daniel), Aiden Coy (Olivia) and Bridget Strona (Damian); her six great-grandchildren, Eliani, Lyla, Xavier, Siobhan, Imogen and Julia; her sister-in-law, Sue Kenneally; and numerous nieces and nephews in Ireland and the U.S. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 36 years, Tom Coy; her twin sister, Helena Frances; her sisters, Mary Haskett, Noreen O'Gorman, Margaret O'Rourke, Susan Kenneally (Sr. Jeanne Antide), Agnes Donnelly; and her brothers, Joseph Kenneally and Patrick Kenneally.
When her children were older, Bridie volunteered countless hours as a Democratic Committee Person, an Ambassador at the Albany County Airport and a Eucharistic Minister at St. Peter's Hospital.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Bridie's family, Monday, December 29, 2025, 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 N. Allen St., Albany, N.Y. 12206. Please enter the funeral home from the rear parking lot entrance only.
Funeral services will follow on Monday, at 1:00 p.m., at The Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell St., (Rev. Kenneth J. Doyle Way) Albany, N.Y. 12208.
The Rite of Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont, N.Y., immediately following the Mass.
