Dr Ecker was our Dr for many enjoyable years. Many times our medical visits were accompanied a bottle of Old Ghost, old vine Zinfandel wine and an occasional Wednesday afternoon on the golf course. We sure miss him. We miss as a doctor as well. To all the family, he is seated at Heavens Banquet Table waiting for you. God´s blessings!

I met Dr. Brien in 1987. He was the first doctor in Stockton to take AIDS/HIV patients. I was one of those patients. He not only treated and cared for those living with HIV, but he always helped with donations and fundraisers. We were lucky to have someone like him in the community. I was just talking about him yesterday to another former patient who I ran into at a memorial.
Dr. Ecker also took care of my mom. My mother was so crazy about him, she kept an 8 x 10 photograph of him, sitting with her, on her dresser at the nursing home. I’m afraid she didn’t really remember much about my dad, but when Dr. Brien came in, her whole face lit him. I removed when he signed my disability papers, he made me promise to try to stay active, and then we would both grow old together. (As doctor and patient). I never would have imagined he would go first. We all miss him so very much and send lots of love to Kay and his family.

We were utterly shocked to find out, only this week, of Dr Ecker's passing. Almost as shocked as when he told us he was retiring. He was a great doctor and a great person. We are glad he got to enjoy retirement for eighteen months but wish it would have been much longer. Our heartfelt sympathy for his wife and family.

I had the opportunity to work a little bit along side him at Sutter while working with another doctor. He was a very kind and humble doctor from the short time I got to experience with him. He was also my grandparents Family doctor for many years and treated them so kindly. He will be missed.

Dr. Ecker is fondly remembered by my son and I as being first at Lincoln Medical then Gould Medical in Stockton. As I just turned 67, how sad I am that Dr. Ecker will not go on enriching the lives of those around him whether retired or in the medical field. I so remember Dr. Ecker's congeniality and patience! I've been away from Stockton since 2001 but Dr. Ecker will remain in my heart forever. My son and I plan to attend Dr. Ecker's Celebration of Life and to donate to the charity named in his obituary.

..Doctor Ecker took care of me since 1987 when I tested positive for HIV if not for him and his good care toward me I would not be here today. He always took his time with you in the office did not rush you through. He will be missed I cried when he said he was retiring. GOD be with you Doctor

Each time I had an appointment, Dr Ecker really cared about me as a person and not just another patient. I missed him when he retired, and he will be truly missed by so many as a friend

This is so shocking! Dr. Ecker was my doctor since 1987. He was a kind and generous man. He gave and help so many from the San Joaquin AIDS Foundation. He was the first doctor who I remember, not afraid to help those living with HIV/AIDS. His legacy will live on forever in our hearts. You will be missed and sending much love to Kay and his family. He took great care of my mom too!

Dr Ecker you will be miss. When I was diagnosed with HIV in 1987 you took me and put me on the anti vital drugs and after 30 years I am still here at the age of 62. You took wonderful care of me all those years and I never missed a day without taking my meds because you always asked me are you taking everything. He knew because of lab the lab work I had done every month. God be with you Doctor Ecker your 1 in a million and my prayers go out to your wife and family. James Martin

Dear Kay and family; My deepest heartfelt condolences reach out to you. Upon learning this news 3 weeks ago I have been deeply saddened. I worked with Dr. Ecker (1992-2000) and he was always a dedicated and caring physician as well loyal supporter of our "Lincoln Family". I will forever cherish those memories of days gone by with Lincoln Family. He was always the staff's go-to guy and willing to lend a hand. For all the lives he touched and enriched with his expertise may he rest in heavenly peace. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers for comfort and strength in your loss.
