Brien Robert Pepperdine

Brien Robert Pepperdine was born in Owen Sound on February 10, 1956 to Robert and Edna Pepperdine (predeceased) and died aged 67 on June 7, 2023, unexpectedly but peacefully, surrounded by family. For 37 wonderful years, he was the devoted, kind and loving husband and best friend of Veronica Bergs. Brien is also survived by his brother Wayne (Deborah); sisters Linda (Brad Ling) and Shelley; parents in law Aivars and Anita Bergs; brothers-in-law Peter (Darlene) and Roger (Tina) Bergs; nephew David and nieces Catherine, Stephanie, Caroline, Clara, Claudia, Rachel, Emily, Elizabeth, and Makayla.
After graduating from the University of Waterloo (BA '85; MA '86), where he met his wife, Brien worked in IT, supporting the Ontario Premier's Office and Cabinet Office for 25 years.
Family and friends will remember him as warm and witty, widely read, a music lover, a ham radio operator (VE3 VAW), and a coffee aficionado. Brien was insatiably curious, enthusiastically exploring many interests. The cottage on Soyers Lake (Haliburton) was his favourite place, where he enjoyed happy times paddling the lake and throwing frisbees for his beloved canine companions.
The family extends sincere gratitude to the Sunnybrook Hospital staff who cared for Brien and worked valiantly to promote his recovery from recent surgery.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 17, 1:00 pm, at Yorkminster Park Baptist Church, 1585 Yonge Street, Toronto, with a reception following. As expressions of sympathy, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
