Brittany Lock Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel on Mar. 28, 2025.
Brittany Kay Lock, age 37, of Hanover, Indiana, and the daughter of Darrell Lock, Sr. and Shelia (Bell) Withers, was born on March 30, 1987, in Madison, Indiana. She attended Southwestern Schools and had previously worked for McDonald's and Lock's Lawn Care. Brittany was blessed with two daughters: Hailey and Paisley, whom she adored since the moment they were born. She loved listening to music and going for long rides while listening to her favorite groups, the Red Clay Strays and Grateful Dead. More than anything, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her daughters and her niece, Starr. While she was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County, she had hoped to one day travel the country in a van with her niece, Starr. Brittany was a wild, outgoing, lovable, and affectionate young woman who was loved by many. Ms. Lock passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025 in Madison.
Her life will be cherished by her daughters: Hailey Collins and Paisley Lock, both of Hanover; her father and step-mother: Darrell, Sr. and Lisa Lock of Hanover; her brother: Darrell Lock, Jr. and his wife, Ashlee of Madison; her step-sisters: Christi Adams and her husband, Robert of Lexington, Indiana, and Jennifer Hostetler and her husband, Ryan of New Washington, Indiana; her step-brother: Buddy Law and his wife, Kristina of Lexington; her paternal grandma: Shirley Lock of Madison; her niece and nephew whom she loved like her own children: Starr and Levi Romans of Hanover; her step-father, Brian Withers of Madison; her aunts: Cynthia Mann and her husband, Kevin of Madison, Doris VanWye of Madison, and Beth Walters of Hanover; her uncles: Ronnie Bell and his wife, Susan, and Wayne Maddox; her nieces and nephews: Dawson, Mason, Jacob, Reed, Emalyn, Alli, Dayton, Brayden, and Willow; and numerous cousins.
Brittany was preceded in death by her uncle, Richard VanWye (2009); her sister: Crystal Lock (2010); her maternal grandpa, Roy Bell (2013); her paternal grandpa: Ralph Lock (2013); her maternal grandma, Stella Bell (2017); her mother: Shelia (Bell) Withers (2021); and her grandma, Marcella Brooks (2024).
Pastor Scott Kollmann will conduct funeral services at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Lytle Welty Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, Madison. Friends and family may visit on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 from 4:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Brittany Lock Memorial Fund. Contributions may be made at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home or below.
