Sending thoughts and prayers. Our paths crossed when I was a very young new paramedic and new to RCEMS back in the day (1990's). He was amazing. He was one of the greatest medics I ever worked with. I'm so very sorry to hear the news. Carol (Hite) Gupton.

My first memory of Spike was when he would bring a patient to Richland Er. He was always kind, courteous & professional. He always made time for Michelle if she was working at the Er, would put his arm around her & have the Biggest smile. One of the sweetest things I ever saw & always remembered it. My condolences to Michelle, their daughters & the rest of Spikes family. Rest in peace you will be missed.

I first met Britt serving together at Naval Hospital Beaufort , he was such a joy to be around. We laughed and joked all the time . When I saw him on Rescue 911 I knew that was SPIKE . He had a cutting edge hairstyle. He was an AWESOME PARAMEDIC ! His legacy will live on through the countless lives he has saved , and the knowledge he has passed on to countless EMT and Paramedic students he has trained. My thoughts and prayers are with his Family, Friends and his Richland County EMS Family ! Britt you are a dedicated
Paramedic and Navy Hospital Corpsman ! Peace be with you brother ! !

Too many to name, not enough years knowing you. RIP buddy. "The rest of those who go before cannot steady the unrest of those yet to follow."

I met Britt through his wife Michelle. Their love for each other was so amazing! They were what you say "2 peas in a pod"! Praying for the Ogden family and RCEMS as they deal with their loss!

I remember working night shift, passing Spike many times a night in the ER hallways, his twinkling smile was the same at 7pm, and 2am. When Spike trained my Daughter during her Paramedic clinicals, , he would shoot me a message and say, she is doing great. I had no doubt Spike, was the best to learn from. Michelle, I´m Praying for your Comfort.
