Bro. Ricky White

Matthew 25:21 “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”

Brother Ricky White was born July 7, 1955, to Jollie and Naomi White. He had the privilege of growing up with two brothers and four sisters.

Ricky was saved as a 19-year-old young man at New Zion General Baptist Church. He later joined and was baptized into Cedar Bluff Missionary Baptist Church by Brother Stanley Keen. Ricky was called to preach the Gospel in his early twenties. He was later ordained in 1986 as a Missionary Baptist Minister at Old Hopewell. He married the love of his life, Donna Leath in 1981. To this union were added 2 beautiful daughters, Leah and Jessica. Later gaining a son-in-law, Lee Amonett and later two beautiful grandchildren, Allie and Cole. Jessica and father of their children, J.B. Killmon also added two more beautiful grandchildren, Riley and Brayden. Brother Ricky pastored many churches and helped in many revivals. He faithfully served the Lord, preaching the gospel to many lost souls and had a great influence on many people. He was a tree of knowledge from faithfully studying God’s Word from the KJV with much prayer and supplication to rightly divide the word and bring forth God’s word, and the plan of salvation.

Everyone loved Brother Ricky and his family, and enjoyed times spent together. Ricky loved his glass bottle Ski, family, friends, life and most of all God and the church. If you ever had a conversation with him, he always spoke of the Lord. His life desire was to hear people tell of being saved by God’s Amazing Grace. He was blessed to hear all 4 grandchildren of being saved before he left this world, He was blessed with brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins who were all very dear to him.

2 Timothy 4:6-8

“For I am now ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight; I have finished my course. I have kept the faith. Henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of rightness, which the Lord, the righteous judge shall give me at that day: and not to me only but unto all them also that love his appearing.”

Ricky is survived by wife, Donna White; daughters, Leah (Lee) Amonett, Jessica White, and father of her children, JB Killmon; grandchildren, Allie Kay Amonett, Cole Jared Amonett, James Riley Killmon, Johnathan Brayden Killmon, Charlee and Scarlet Powell; as well as his brother, James Willard (Ramona) White.

He is preceded in death by parents, Jollie & Naomi White; brother, Jessie Woodson White; sisters, Launa Parker, Jewel Ragland, Ruth Ann Gammons Troutt, Patricia Ross Brooks; nephew, Richie Gammons; niece, Angela Gammons; great-niece, Lilly Louise Leath.

Funeral services for Bro. White will be conducted on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 11AM from the chapel of Woodard Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Harrison, Bro. Jerry Gammons, Bro. Jim Carter and George Carter officiating.  Interment will follow in the Eulia Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, December 1st from 10AM-9PM at Woodard Funeral Home and again on Saturday, December 2nd from 9AM - service time at 11AM at Woodard Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Eulia Cemetery.
