there are simply too many memories of good ol brock to even start listing them here. i have nothing but fond memories and happy times thinking of the guy. i made ice cream there all through high school and recieved my first real lesson with financial responsibility from brock giving me my 1st LOAN for a vehicle at 16, as he did for all the young kids that worked for brock. he was a mastermind of an engineer fixing and converting games and piano player and his best invention will always be the "electric hammer". good times, you will be missed. tried so hard to make it to the celebration of life but was a bit too late to have made it in time. so sorry brock.

I write this message of condolence to Brock´s family and friends on behalf of myself and the thousands of people whose lives Brock touched with his delectable ice cream at Brock´s Ice Cream Palace. Rare is the kid that hasn´t visited Brock´s for a birthday treat or as a reward for a good deed or report card. Even if you had never personally met Brock (I have) if you´re a YS resident you´re sure to have visited and have fond memories of Brock´s ice cream. For all of the ups and downs in the world over the decades, Brock´s has always been a rare constant in the community and for that we thank you, Brock. RIP, you´ll be missed.

Brock was one of the first people I met at C.A.N. He took care of physical things that didn't work correctly, like light bulbs, door knobs and things like that. He always came to meetings with Doughnuts. He also belonged to Sutter historical society. We had fun at the picnic in the Buttes. Brock was a positive gentleman that made life so much better. Thank you Connie for loving him. Because you gave so much to him he gave so much to others.

I first knew Brock as the ice cream guy as a kid, then as a customer, but then came to look at him as a friend. As a kid we´d ride our bikes there for a treat or to play his pinball machine. As a customer, we delivered the base mix that he used to create all those awesome flavors of ice cream. He was also one those customers I would always allow extra time for to visit with.
He was a really kind and generous man who had a gruff persona from a distance, but was a cream puff after you got to know him. My young son Matthew would go to work with me on Wednesdays when Brock´s always had a delivery scheduled. Brock knew that Matthew would be with me and ALWAYS made sure that we didn´t leave before he got his chocolate ice cream cone to go. He always took care of my daughter Stephanie when she would occasionally accompany me also. Brock wasn´t only in the sweet, creamy treat business, he was in the memories making business too. I guarantee you that anyone who grew up in the Yuba Sutter area has a memory of Brock´s! Brock wasn´t only a character, he was a community treasure, and more importantly he was a good man! Thanks for the memories Brock!

We always enjoyed getting ice cream at Brock´s. He had the best hand-packed ice cream, too. Always friendly and willing to chat. Sympathies.

I worked for Brock from summer of `68 through the spring of `71. Always had great respect for that honorable man. As for his ice cream? There is none better! OK, except for that time he made a batch of dill pickle ice cream. For real!

I first met Brock in 1971 when I started to work at Wells Fargo Bank. He was one of our best banking clients and always shared his opinions with us. He was a wonderful person, had a great outlook on life, and a good friend. I visited his ice cream parlor quite often. He was very kind and offered to give us what he called Bankers Special hot fudge sundays for .49 cents. I will remember him kindly and always smiling. May you rest in peace Brock and I am praying for your family.

Brock was a long time friend and Moose member. To a lot of people in the the community he donated to so many charities and
helping people in need. He is a example why people give back when the community has been good to you
