Brooke Lixey

Suzanne Brooke Lixey of East Tawas, age 83, passed away peacefully at Ascension Providence Hospital in Rochester, MI on November 26, 2024. She was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Dr. Herbert and the late Isabelle Widing on April 15, 1941. In her early 30's Brooke traveled to East Tawas to seek Chiropractic care from Lixey Chiropractic office, where she met the love of her life, Dr. Rod Lixey. They were married in 1977 and enjoyed 42 years together until Rod Lixey's passing on November 22, 2019. Together they raised 2 children who they loved tremendously, Johanna Margaret Lixey (Jake) of Winter Park, FL and Andrew John Lixey (Ashley) of Washington, MI. Brooke was a staple in Rod Lixey's Chiropractic office for decades, and she cultivated countless friendships in the community. After they retired, Rod and Brooke enjoyed visiting family and friends and sharing a meal at a favorite restaurant. She found her faith to be a source of strength. Brooke shared her faith with others through her prayers, gifts and devotion. She was a member of Tawas United Methodist Church for over 40 years. There was nothing that gave Brooke more pride than her 4 grandchildren - Ella Greene, Lincoln Lixey, Sloane Lixey and Beckam Lixey. Brooke will be missed by many, and we are comforted to know that she is back in Rod's arms in heaven.
