Brooks Reid Knight, 42, of Albany, GA died June 10, 2022 at the Miller County Hospital. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 13, 2022 at 4:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Joey Holland will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Brooks was born in Cincinnati, OH on June 20, 1979 and since the age of four lived in Albany, GA. He enjoyed sports and played football and baseball at Deerfield-Windsor High School before graduating in 1998. Brooks attended Truett McConnell College and received his Associates Degree from Darton College.
Brooks loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, reading and good music. He loved to draw and paint and was very artistic. He was a Georgia Bulldog fanatic and loved to watch his team play. He was the former manager of Ashbrook Plantation and was also employed with Pressley Electric and Nonami Plantation. Brooks’ daughters, Riley and Emma were the light and joy of his life. His relationship with his Lord was uppermost in his mind.
Survivors include his daughters, Riley Knight and Emma Knight both of Leesburg, GA, his father, Ray Knight of Albany, GA, his mother, Terri Schmitt of Plant City, FL, his step-mother, Nancy Lopez Russell of Stuart, FL, his sisters, Ashley Knight (Arnold) Hughey of Venice, FL, Erinn Knight (William) Crane and Torri Knight (Alexander) Deason all of Smyrna, GA, his aunts, Kay Knight (Steve) Larson and Laverne Carswell all of Albany, GA and many cousins including Jessica Leigh Larson of Tuscaloosa, AL.
The family will receive friends Sunday, June 12, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
