Brozy Crimby Wilkins, III, lovingly known as "BC" or "Butch," passed away on March 17, 2026. He was born in
Houston, Texas on December 22, 1955.
As the son of two Navy service members, Brozy grew up in places like Corpus Christi, Spain, Florida, and Maryland. As a child, he enjoyed baseball, golf, and was active in the Boy Scouts, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. Brozy graduated from McPherson County High School in Tryon, Nebraska, in 1974. Soon after, he married his high school sweetheart, Wanda Connell, with whom he had four children. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1974 to 1977 as a combat engineer with the 5th Special Forces Group out of Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, fulfilling his childhood dream of becoming a Green Beret. He later continued his service in the Army Reserve from 1988 to 1990.
A man of strong faith and a servant's heart, Brozy devoted himself to ministry, graduating from Frontier Bible College in 1988 and serving as a pastor until 1999, touching countless lives with his guidance, compassion, and steady presence. Throughout his life, he also worked in a variety of roles including cable technician, bus driver and plant supervisor, whatever it took to support his family. In recent years he was self-employed as a residential and commercial construction contractor.
In 2008, Brozy met Paula Hohl, the love of his life. They were united in marriage on April 22, 2021. They shared many happy adventures that were full of laughter as they traveled and made memories together.
Brozy was a fun-loving jokester who brought laughter wherever he went. He was always willing to lend a hand and would strike up a conversation with anyone he met. He loved telling stories, listening to the Beach Boys, fishing, and playing cards. He found his greatest joy in simple, meaningful moments-traveling with his beloved wife, Paula, and spending cherished time with his grandchildren, especially at the lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Brozy Crimby Wilkins, Jr. and Joyce Renee (Black) Wilkins, his baby brother, Bruce Craig, and his maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Paula Hohl Wilkins; his four children, Brozy Crimby Wilkins IV (Keysha) of Drexel, Missouri, Chad (Mindy) Wilkins of Archie, Missouri, Marci (JT) Blackwell of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Deke Wilkins of Atlanta, Georgia; and his three bonus sons, Travis (Carly) Hohl of Austin, Texas and Tyler (Shae) Hohl, and Trent (Kasey) Hohl of
Houston, Texas. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren, Bryson Wilkins, Makynli Blackwell, Colby Wilkins, Zane Blackwell, Sawyer Mae Blackwell, Zeke Blackwell, Everett Hohl, Sadie Hohl, Lucas Hohl, and Sunny Hohl; and one great-granddaughter, Palmer Clark. Brozy is also survived by his siblings, Brenda Peters and Eddie Wilkins, both of Gothenburg, Nebraska, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Brozy will be remembered for his laughter, his stories, his unwavering faith, and the deep love he had for his family and country. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the memories that will be cherished forever.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 on April 10th at Northshore Church, 18501 W. FM 1097,
