Bruce Anderson, 93, Minot, ND, formerly of Bowbells, ND, passed to eternal life on Monday, March 9, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Bruce Ernest Anderson was born May 30, 1932, the son of Ernest and Betilda (Uglum) Anderson, in Bowbells. He was raised on the family farm in Clayton Township and attended school in the township. Later, Bruce, his parents and sister moved to Bowbells where he graduated from high school. Bruce attended NDSU for one year and returned to the family farm.

Bruce married Mary Alice Melby on June 15, 1953, in Wilton, ND. They made their home on the family farm, where they raised their three children. Bruce became an insurance agent to keep busy in the winter months.

Faith and family were Bruce's priorities. He was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Bowbells, ND.

Bruce was curious and loved to see new places. He and Mary traveled to England, Germany, Russia, China, Alaska, and throughout the United States.

Flying and fishing were Bruce's two favorite hobbies. He was happy to share them with family and friends.

His loving family includes: wife of 72 years, Mary; children, Patricia (John) Sladek, James (Bonnie) Anderson, and Lee (Peggy) Anderson; grandchildren, Michael Sladek (Lisa Sell), Jill (Jason) Wettstein, Kayla Anderson, Ian Anderson, Robert (Kristin) Anderson, Elizabeth (Justin) Shipman; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Slater; nephew, Scott (Vickie) Slater; niece, Ann Slater; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; nephew, Jeffrey Slater.

Funeral: Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at United Methodist Church, Bowbells.

Interment: Bowbells Cemetery, Bowbells, ND.

Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church.
