Just learning of this sad news, I moved away from Rochester a few years ago. I am a sign language interpreter and had worked with Bruce for many years in his classes. He was always considerate to interpreters, answered our questions and checked in to make sure we were able to provide access to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. I had a project I wanted to work on once and made an appointment with him, purely a personal piece of research, and he was kind enough to make time for me and make suggestions. He was one of a kind, and one of the old-guard group of professors who took their lecturing seriously. May he rest in peace.

Sue we were so sorry to read of Bruce´s passing. He was a great neighbor and always nudged me by his actions to pick up our yard when I saw him out picking up branches and storm debris. He was always so kind and never complained about our noisy dogs. One of the smartest people I´ve ever had the pleasure of conversing with through the years. God Bless you Sue as you navigate life ahead.

So sorry to read just now of Bruce's passing. We shared a passion for the Arts and Crafts Movement, and our senses of humor meshed seamlessly. Though we weren't close, he was immediately a friend and confidant, and I will forever regret that I will never get another opportunity with him to share our passions. RIP, Bruce!

Sue and Family,
I have many fond memories of Bruce when my mom Melinda B worked for him. He was a very thoughtful boss, had a great sense of humor, passion for his studies and students and a stand up guy. He was a great support to my brother and I when our mom passed away suddenly - I´ll never forget. I hope you all find comfort in the many memories shared over the days to come and the legacy he left.

Very Sorry Sue for your loss. Bruce was always fun to talk to and I always got a laugh. I asked for his help long ago in helping my daughter into grad school and that was much appreciated. He would always ask me if I knew any Triumph TR6s for sale, I hope he found one. RIP friend!

As an interpreter I worked with Bruce for many years. I loved interpreting for him so much I begged my coordinator to assign me to his classes. He was honest, hysterically funny, and truly cared about the students. A unique soul in the universe. A honor to have known him.

Always encouraged us when we exhibited at shows. Couldn't believe how honored we felt when he would stop and chat and purchase something from us. We will certainly miss him.

While vacationing in Maine one year, I remember sitting in a little obscure cafe in the middle of nowhere and noticing he and Sue sitting two tables from us. I couldn´t believe my eyes. I had to look twice and was afraid I had them wrong before embarrassing myself to ask. BRUCE?? Sue?? As you might imagine, we broke into a lively and informative conversation about all things "antique" - and vacation destinations.
He will surely be missed.

Always, kind, always supportive, and forever knowledgeable about antiques. His articles were informative and fun to read. I will miss Bruce; he was such a wonderful and fantastic person. I remember when I first started my job here at RIT as a Career Counselor for the Communication major. He knew my job was hard and offered every opportunity to partner with me to connect with his students. I have always appreciated his kind words of encouragement, and throughout the years at RIT, I have valued his approval as I advanced in my career. I will miss saying hello to him in the SAU, where he always had lunch with his students. Thank you, Bruce, and may you rest in peace and know you are valued at RIT!
