Bruce H. Bortz Sr.

Bruce H. Bortz, Sr.,76, of Kutztown, passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, December 21, 2025. He was the husband of Carol S. (Eisenhard) Bortz, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Harold A. and Thelma M. (Fenstermaker) Bortz; he had four siblings. For the last five years, he worked as a Project Superintendent for Doyle Construction Company, Rockville, MD. Prior, he worked for various construction companies. He served as a combat Army veteran during the Vietnam War and was a life member of the VFW and a member of the Ray A. Master American Legion Post 217 in Topton. He enjoyed camping, but mostly he will be remembered for the love he had for his grandchildren and his dogs Ralph and Sparky.

Survivors: loving wife Carol; loving sons Bruce H. II and his wife Kai of Mertztown; Jonathon A. and his wife Jessica of Topton; loving daughters Candy L. Bortz of Tobyhanna, Diana J., wife of Jeremy Buchanan of New Boston, TX, Kimberley M., wife of the late Vernon Smith of Macungie; 9 wonderful grandchildren Kade, Kyle, Cali, Kaitlin, Cassi, Kohde, Allyssa, Lacie, Kayleigh; 2 beautiful great granddaughters Kaidyn and Meadow.

Services: 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 27 at Schmoyer Funeral Home, 8926 Brookdale Rd. Breinigsville. Calling period will begin at 9:30 AM.
