Bruce Grauf Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Directors - Royal Oak on Jan. 26, 2026.
Bruce Robert Grauf, 84, of Huntington Woods, Michigan, passed away on January 24, 2026. He was born on October 24, 1941.

Bruce was the beloved husband of the love of his life, Mary Ann Grauf, to whom he was married on June 12, 1965, and a devoted father to Melissa Monroe and Jason (Michaelene) Grauf. "Papa" was a proud and devoted grandfather to Jackson Hamelink, Shane Grauf, Shiloh Grauf, and Stefan Grauf. He was the last of three brothers, all of whom preceded him in death.

Originally from Saginaw, Michigan, Bruce spent 34 years serving his community as a State Farm Insurance agent, retiring after a long and dedicated career.

A faithful member of Huntington Woods Lutheran Church, Bruce served on the board of directors and was a former president, dedicating his time and leadership to the congregation he loved.

More than anything, Bruce will be remembered for his eternally jovial and optimistic spirit. He never met a stranger and always had time to talk. He genuinely loved getting to know people and true to his nature, always remembered to ask about their lives.

Bruce had a deep love for his hobbies and creative pursuits. He was an accomplished glass blower and, more recently, found great joy in wood turning. He loved puttering around and caring for his lake home, and if the weather was right, you could find him swimming in Lake Huron.

Visitation for Bruce will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. Eleven Mile Road, Royal Oak. A service to celebrate Bruce's life will be held on Saturday, January 31, visitation from 12:00 p.m. until the time of his service at 1:00 p.m. at Huntington Woods Lutheran Church,12935 W. 11 Mile Road, Huntington Woods. A reception and celebration of life will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Huntington Woods Lutheran Church in Bruce's memory. Please share a story or leave a tribute at www.SullivanfuneralDirectors.com
