Bruce H. Lyon, 82, of Rock Island, IL, passed away quietly at home on Thursday, October 23, 2025 surrounded by family. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 27, 2025, at Trimble Funeral Home, 701 12th Street, Moline, with Pastor Josh Smith officiating. The family will greet friends and relatives from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Gardens, Silvis, IL.

Bruce was born on May 6, 1943, in Rock Island to William and Alta Lyon, nee Morril. He was united in marriage to Charlene Tompkins on June 4, 1977, in Rock Island. The couple were long-time members of Bethel Church. Bruce spent over 40 years as a union carpenter, mostly with Greenleaf Construction. Bruce loved building custom furniture and fixing all kinds of things around the house. He was an early home computer user with his TSR-80, loved watching classic television, collecting caps, camping, and boating with the family. Later in life, a day did not go by when there wasn't a squirrel at the back door looking for peanuts from Bruce's hand.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Charlene, (Rock Island, IL) sons, Brett Lyon (New York, NY), and Brandon Lyon, daughter Tanya Lang (East Moline, IL), son-in-law Jeffrey Lang, son David Lyon (Rock Island, IL), brother Rolland “Terry” Lyon (Andalusia, IL) and grandchildren Jacob, Christine, Michael, Laura, and Miranda.
