Bruce Jon Marshall

Bruce Jon Marshall, of Lansing, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Bruce was born on December 13, 1946, to Ellis and Dorothy (Drake) Marshall in Lansing. He attended Lansing Eastern High School, class of 1965, where he ran track and served as Varsity Club President.

His career path took him from Schmidt's to the United States Army, where he served in Vietnam, and then to the State of Michigan, from which he eventually retired. It was there, through mutual friends, that he met the love of his life, Nancy. Bruce and Nancy were married on July 8, 1972, and celebrated 53 years of marriage last year.

Bruce's three greatest loves were his family, bowling, and veterans (usually in that order). While he adored his kids, his grandchildren were permanently perched on the highest pedestal.

He was an avid bowler, also serving 20 years as the Lansing USBC manager, over 30 years as a local league secretary, and worked with the Michigan United States Bowling Congress. He regularly raised funds for Bowlers to Veteran Link, an organization dear to his heart.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Michael. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; daughters, Teri Scott, Nicole (Alan) Oversmith and Courtney (Mark) Gerou; son, David (Kelly) Marshall; grandchildren, Alex, Ashley, Emily, Madelyn, Aidan, Mathieu, Carson, Kaitlyn, Michelle, Britney, Cameron, Chase, Ashton, and Ava. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, grandpups, and in-laws he adored.

Funeral Services will be held, Saturday, February 28, 2026, 12:00 Noon at the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Home, Delta Chapel, 6301 W. St. Joe Hwy., Lansing, MI 48917, with Chaplain Steve Ezop officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends, Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 10:30 – 12:00 Noon at the funeral home.
