I met Bruce when we attended Shipfitter class A welding school in San Diego, in Feb. 1971. He and I and around 45 fellow sailors were part of class 71-1. Our class received the highest grade point average up to that time and it still is a record that stands today. I remember he drove a beautiful 1954 chevy that he drove back and forth on weekends to his home in West Covina. He and Doug Allison were good friends and are to this day. I was fortunate that I sometimes was invited to spend time with him and Doug. I got to meet his family, mother and father and his sister Karen, who I went out with several times. I'll remember Bruce for his remarkable laugh and friendship. Thanks for all the memories of the Monroe family. I will cherish them forever.
