Dear Sarah and Alec: I am the third of your dad's first cousins who, primarily due to geography, never got to really know Bruce. But respect him, we all did. We all watched and listened to him with pride. I'm sure this is a difficult time for you, but my thoughts and prayers are with you. Please know how greatly respected your father was.

I am so very sorry to hear about the death of Bruce. He was my first cousin and, although, over the years we lost contact, I have always been so very proud of him. He was such an outstanding journalist and very well-respected in the industry. I did get a chance to read his insightful blogs. He will be sorely missed. Dear Sarah & Alec: I was very sorry to hear that your dad had died. We never got to know each other but he was thought of often. I have notified Meredith Cook Held in Texas and Peter McCuen in New York - we were all his 1st cousins. We tried to find his address and phone number a few years ago without success. I grew up on Bruce Morton reporting the news. He was always steady, straightforward and seemed to be so brilliantly prepared. Nothing caught him off-guard. What a great career he had! My sympathy to his family and friends. I wish him peace now on his spiritual journey.
