Bruce Robert Ohmann, age 70, of Jay, New York died Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.
Born in Saranac Lake, New York on July 5, 1953, he was the son of Robert and Mary (Aubin) Ohmann.
Bruce Ohmann, a lifelong resident of the Adirondacks, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. Bruce spent most of his life surrounded by the beauty of the Adirondacks. He was a man with a big heart, deeply devoted to his children, his three cherished granddaughters and two grandsons.
Bruce was a true outdoorsman, finding joy in camping, fishing, hunting, skiing, and golf. He created countless memories with his children during their camping trips on Lower Saranac Lake, where they shared many adventures and laughter.
For over 40 years, Bruce worked as a professional electrician, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues and clients. He passed away too soon, leaving behind many ambitions and plans for the future.
Bruce’s spirit and love for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by one daughter Kerry Schnell of West Chazy and one son Brian (Jessica) Ohmann of Fort Huachuca, Arizona, one brother Kyle (Laurie) Ohmann of Hickory, NC and one sister Shelia (Kenneth) Casler of Saranac Lake, He was preceded in death by his mother and father and one son Brad Ohmann in 2019.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday July 5, 2024, with Rev. Thomas Higman officiatinf. Burial will follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Saranac Lake.
