Bruce Rock Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Welch Funeral Home - Marks Chapel on Jan. 13, 2026.
Bruce Miles Rock, 71, of Warsaw, passed away peacefully at home on January 12, 2026, with his family by his side. Although our hearts are shattered, we rejoice in knowing that he finally won his long and courageous battles against the strokes and diabetes that he had lived with for so long, and we know he is now at peace in the presence of our Almighty God.

Born on June 9, 1954, Bruce was the son of the late Irving Ryland "Buster" Rock and Betty Miles Rock. He grew up in Farnham and was a proud member of the Richmond County Fire Department - Farnham Division, for several years.

Bruce had a lifelong passion for classic cars and trucks, and he won numerous car show awards for his '55 "Runt" and '72 El Camino restorations. This passion led to him having a rewarding and very successful career as an Automotive Mechanic.

Bruce was also a gifted woodworker. He spent much of his free time making small furniture pieces to give to family and friends. He loved 'tinkering' with wood and tools and just being outside in nature.

Bruce was a strong but quiet man who was devoted to his family. His sons were his pride and joy.

Bruce is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Karen; his sons, Logan Miles Rock of Warsaw and Landon Andrew Rock of North Carolina; his mother, Betty Miles Rock of Warsaw; his sister, Faye Rock Dobyns of Hague, and many other special family and friends. Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Irving Ryland "Buster" Rock, and his beloved four-legged pets, Oakley, Topaz, and Lucy.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 17th 2026 at Warsaw Baptist Church in Warsaw Virginia, at 11:00am. Family and friends are welcome to visit with the immediate family one hour prior to the service.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Richmond County Rescue Squad or Richmond County Fire Department in lieu of flowers.
