Bruce Edward Schneider Davisburg, Michigan – 1948–2025 Bruce Edward Schneider, 77, of Davisburg, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on July 17, 2025. A devoted husband, proud father of four, and cherished grandfather to many, Bruce's life was a testament to faith, family, and a deep well of knowledge-especially when it came to cars. Bruce's unwavering faith guided his life, and he was a dedicated servant of God at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fenton. Married to the love of his life, Carol, for 46 years, Bruce found his greatest joy in devoting himself to her and their family, supporting his children's dreams, and cherishing time with his 18 grandchildren. His professional life reflected his passion for teaching and mechanics, from running Bruce's Gasoline Alley in Unionville to teaching auto shop at Unionville-Sebewaing and Oakland Technical Schools, and working with Snap-on Tools as a salesman and tooling engineer. His retirement allowed him to spend time on his hobby business Gearhead's Quickchange Exchange. Bruce loved solving problems with creative, over-the-top solutions and was a respected contributor on many online automotive forums. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Jean Schneider; his brother-in-law, Clifford Hoppe; and sisters-in-law, Jackie Hoppe, Jeanette McKay, and Lorna McCormick. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol; his sisters Jonnie Lee Miller (Steve) and Nancy Regetz (Tom); sister-in-law Delores Gangler (Ken); brother-in-law Michael Hoppe (Peggy); and his children Ben Schneider (Bridget), Jennifer Shefferly (Brandon), Penny Strzempek (Ryan), and Travis Schneider (Kacey), along with their families, including 18 grandchildren who were the light of his life. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dryer Funeral Home in Holly, Michigan. Funeral services will take place on Friday, July 25, at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fenton, with an hour of visitation prior to the service and a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Fenton, in honor of Bruce's lifelong faith and service.
