Condolences to the Sutter family. Bruce has left a wonderful legacy as Baseball Hall of Fame reliever who won the Cy Young award in 1979. May our loving Creator support and comfort the family in the days and months ahead.

I am a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, and Bruce Sutter was one of the greatest Cubs who ever lived. He was one of my all time favorites and I remember routing for him to come in during the late innings and save games for the Cubs. We all enjoyed the great contribution he made to the game of baseball, and the excitement and satisfaction he gave Cub fans when he saved so many games. Bruce Sutter is irreplaceable and he will be missed. My Condolences to his family, friends, and associates.

To The Sutter Family,
There are many fond memories of watching Bruce on the mound. He was my favorite player! But I was lucky enough to get a glimpse of what a bigger man he was as a father and husband. Josh, Ben, and Chad, I used to babysit you way back when you all were tiny. Jayme, so sorry for your loss. Bruce was such a good family man.

Had the pleasure meeting this great man in St Louis. What a super gentleman. Taking the time to talk and take piks, he was a great player. Prayers to the Sutter boys.

I was very saddened to read that Bruce Sutter has died.
I used to go to the Cub games with my dad just to watch Bruce Sutter. I used to love to watch him play. He was a very good player.
My heart goes out to Bruce Sutter's family. He is now with the Angels.
May God watch over Bruce Sutters family.

Was there with the Cubs minor league system in Scottsdale in the early '70's when we almost released him . Bruce came to camp with a sore arm and did not mention it till the day he was to get his release. Freddy Martin took over his rehab and taught him the splitter. The rest is history!

Well-deserving Hall of Famer, and I've heard many accounts of Bruce's high character and standing as a teammate. Bruce's "splitter" was something to behold, and I am thankful that I was able to see it (fortunately from the stands or my couch, and not the batter's box) in my lifetime!
Rest in peace, Bruce. It was a thrill to watch you pitch.
