Bruce Meade Swanson was born to Victor and Artina Swanson on July 28, 1934 in St. Paul, MN. Bruce entered His eternal home with his Lord and Savior on February 10, 2025.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Cindy Swanson, and his grandson, Jacob Raines. He is survived by his wife, Pam of 51 years and his son, Mark Swanson (Collette), his granddaughter, Dusty Strahan (Zach), and his great-grandchildren, Olivia and Amelia Strahan. He also leaves behind many extended family and friends whom he loved.
Bruce lived his early years in St. Paul where he attended grade and high school. He was married to Joy from 1955-1961. They had two children, Mark and Cindy. In 1972, he graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota. After graduation, he was hired by the 3M Company.
He moved to Milwaukee, WI, as a 3M sale's representative of audiovisual equipment. In 1973, Bruce met Pam. Together we recommitted our lives to Christ and soon after married. We spent 51 years together committed to each other and to the Lord. Bruce's favorite moments were spent with his parents, his children, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
1985 was a transition year. Bruce retired from 3M and opened his own business, Moto Photo and Portrait Studio. Bruce introduced many creative ideas into the portrait and photo finishing business. The business grew to be the 2nd largest store nationally within the Moto Photo franchise.
In 2000, Bruce retired and opened the door to serving the Lord by leading Bible studies with a focus on men's ministry. He experienced multiple illnesses during the years up to 2025. His faith in the Lord Almighty was the reason he maintained a positive attitude. His life verse was Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all you heart and rely not on your own understanding, but in all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path."
A memorial service will be held at Southbrook Church, 11010 W. St. Martins Road, Franklin, WI 53132 on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 4 pm. There will be a visitation at the church from 3 pm to 4 pm. A light meal will follow the service at the church. All are invited.
