I did not know Bruce. He and I never met or talked. I only learned of Bruce on Sunday, January 19, 2025, during a classic computer meeting about Timex computers from the 1980s. This is a sad, strange coincidence, for it seems he died the day before our meeting. A person in the meeting pulled out Bruce's book published in 1986 called "Build A Microcomputer Controlled Robot." We looked at pictures of Bruce and his H.E.N.R.Y. robot that can be found online. I read the introduction to Bruce's book this week and was impressed by his budget-bound thinking and ingenuity.

David Anderson, the host of the Zoom meeting, hoped to interview Bruce and have him possibly join our next meeting in February. When he was looking for him this morning, January 24, he came across this obituary for Bruce and posted it to our forum, here:

I had hoped to ask Bruce questions about his early exploration of home robotics. We even started a thread about Bruce's book on our discussion forum on January 19, 2025, here:

I'm sorry for your loss and I wish that I could have known Bruce at all, even for a few minutes in a Zoom meeting, for he comes across as a fun, intelligent person in his writing. I have posted a picture of Bruce and his robot, H.E.N.R.Y., that can be found online. This picture shows that Bruce had a good sense of humor too.

Sincerely,
Adam Trionfo
