A funeral service for Bruce Walker, age 73, of Spirit Lake, will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Grace Lutheran Church in Spirit Lake. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Spirit Lake. Visitation with the family present will be from 5 - 7 pm, Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake.
Bruce Bernell Walker, son of Bernell and Betty (Hansen) Walker, was born on September 13, 1951, in Lakefield, Minnesota. He graduated from Harris Lake Park High School before continuing his education at Iowa State University.
Bruce dedicated his life to farming, beginning his work alongside his grandparents. His leadership and passion for farming extended into the agriculture community as he served as president and vice president of the Dickinson County Pork Producers for fourteen years and as vice president and voting delegate for nine years with the Farm Bureau. He was also a ten-year member and leader of 4-H.
Bruce was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Spirit Lake and enjoyed his time with several local coffee and dinner groups, where friendships were deepened over shared stories and laughter.
Bruce passed away on July 14, 2025, at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, Iowa, at seventy-three years of age.
He is survived by his daughters, Amy Walker and Lisa (Wade) Mustard; his son, Jason Walker; and his two grandsons, Daniel Dressel and Matthew Mustard. He is also survived by his sister, Bernita (Jim) Andersen, and his niece, Melissa (Bobby) Desai and nephew, Michael (Lisa) Andersen.
Bruce was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and his brother, Brian Walker.
