Brunson Lawrence, 54, of Salisbury, NC passed away December 3, 2025. Brunson is survived by his children, Aaron, Colby, and Madelyne Lawrence.

A Reflection

single handedly keeping the visor alive and in style

mostly feral all the while

with so many gifts for the rest of us: Gathering, Fellowship, Love and Laughter. Gentle

Kindness with a bear-warm Hug.

cigar in one hand and a glass in the other,

a Toast to a heart so large

and a Brunson-sized hole left behind

Grateful he was part of our lives

No matter the time day or night

He would drive to be in our sight

What does it mean to be a man

Dirt on his shirt, tool in his hand

Fixing my car, fixing my heart

Fixing dinner, hey grab my lighter

Let's have a cigar

Mix me a drink, you know the way

Jim Beam and Pepsi max, ice out the tray

Covered in camo

At the break of dawn

Watching the sun rise from our stand

Deep in the woods, coffee in hand

Even if we didn't see a thing moving

I saw God with him and we knew it

From his inception

He was a magnet for human connection

Love hit you harder than an elbow from the top rope wrestling

Making an everlasting impression

We were destined

To befriended

By a man who's greatest gift was friendship

You could find him in the woods bathing in the creek

Or rod in hand, reeling in a monster fish at the beach

Tending to his garden and feeding the birds

To sitting in his chair with his dogs not saying a word

His bread and butter was

Bread and butter

Spread so immaculate and delicious it would make you kiss your mother

“I-Fly” was on his license plate

Drove it like he stole it

But now he flies through Heavens gates

Streets of gold doing donuts

Subwoofer pumping that bass so loud

St Peter yelling, “Hey brother turn it down!”

But he says “if the music's too loud, you're too old”..

“I been “Going Deaf” since 20 years old!”

A memorial service will be held at 2PM, Saturday, December 6, 2025 at First Presbyterian Church in Lewis Hall, Salisbury, NC.
